Fried green tomatoes sl (shaker)

Yield: 6 servings

Measure Ingredient
½ cup Cornmeal
¼ teaspoon Sugar
½ teaspoon Salt
⅛ teaspoon Pepper
6 mediums Green tomatoes; cut into 1/4-inch slices
½ cup (approx) vegetable oil

Combine cornmeal, sugar, salt, and pepper; stir well. Dredge tomatoes in cornmeal mixture.

Heat oil in a large skillet to 375 degrees F.; add tomatoes and fry until golden brown on each side. Drain on paper towels.
