Fragrant yellow rice

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Basmati rice
1½ cup Water
1 teaspoon Salt (optional)
½ teaspoon Tumeric
1 \N Stick cinnamon
3 \N Whole cloves
3 \N Cardamom pods

Wash rice 5 or 6 times and drain. Mix all of the ingredients in a microwave safe dish, with a cover.

Microwave on high for 5 minutes, then microwave on half power for 15 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes, fluff with a fork. (Since microwave wattage varies, cooking time may require adjusting.) If using a stove top, bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to a simmer.

Cover and cook for 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
