Crispy batter for shrimp

1 | cup | Flour |
½ | teaspoon | Sugar |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | Egg | |
1 | cup | Ice water |
2 | tablespoons | Salad oil |
2 | pounds | Fresh shrimp; peeled and deveined |
Directions
Combine all ingredients except shrimp. Beat well. Dip shrimp into batter and deep fry at 375 degrees until golden brown. Serves 6.
This batter can also be used for onion rings.
