|½ cup||Shortening (half butter)|
|½ cup||Confectioners sugar|
|½ cup||Thick apricot preserves|
|½ cup||Thick pineapple preserves|
Heat oven to 350. Mix shortening, sugar & yolks thoroughly. Stir flour into sugar mixture. Press & flatten to cover bottom of ungreased oblong pan, 13*9½*2". Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven & spread preserves, then with Meringue. Return to oven; bake about 20 minutes, until Meringue is golden brown. Cool slightly; cut into small bars.
