Ingredients

1poundsDiced lean pork, veal, or chicken
2cupsDiced celery
1teaspoonSalt
2tablespoonsCorn-starch
2cupsChow mein noodles
2cupsWater or meat stock
½cupDiced onions
2cupsCanned bean sprouts
2tablespoonsSoy sauce
cupCooking fat

Directions

Fry meat 5 minutes in cooking fat. Add water or stock. Cover. Simmer until meat is tender. Add celery and onion. Simmer 10 minutes.

Moisten corn-starch in a little water. Add to first mixture. Add bean sprouts and soy sauce. Season to taste. Heat thoroughly. Serve over noodles. 6 servings.
