Chickpea puree

¼cupSlice green onions
¼cup(packed) fresh parsley leaves
3Grinds fresh black pepper; more or less
1dashCayenne pepper
1dashGround cumin
1dashTurmeric
1Lemon; juice of
1dashTamari or soy sauce
1can(16-oz) chickpeas; rinsed and drained

Combine the garlic, onions, and parsley in the food processor and process til smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients and process til desired consistency is reached - just a little for a chunky puree, quite awhile for a creamy puree. A little water may be necessary to correct consistency.

Serve as a dip or spread for veggies or baked tortilla/pita chips.
