Yield: 6 Servings

Measure Ingredient
12 \N Uncooked pearl barley
2 packs Frozen lima beans; thawed
3 \N Fresh tomatoes; or 19oz can
1 large Onion; chopped
2 \N Cloves garlic; minced
\N \N Salt and pepper; to taste
1 \N Bay leaf
2 teaspoons Sugar
5 tablespoons Parsley
½ teaspoon Basil
⅓ cup Chicken broth
1 \N Bottle vermouth; or white wine

Put sausage in cod frypan. Pour wine half way up sausages. Cover and steam for 15 mins. Remove cover and saute until brown. Remove from frypan. Using a little of the sausage fat, saute the onions and garlic. Add tomatoes, bay leaf, pepper, basiland sugar. Simmer 3 mins. Add broth and ½ cup wine.

Add beans , sausage and 3 tablespoons of parsley. Cover and cook 45 mins.
