Buried marshmallows

Ingredients

| ⅔ | cup | Brown sugar; packed |
| ½ | cup | Shortening |
| 1 | Egg | |
| ½ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
| ½ | teaspoon | Salt |
| 1½ | cup | Flour |
| 2 | tablespoons | Milk |
| ¼ | cup | Maraschino cherry juice |
| 2 | Sq unsweetened chocolate; melted | |
| 1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
| ½ | cup | Chopped maraschino cherries |
| large | Marshmallows; cut in half | |
| 1 | cup | Chocolate chips; melted |
| ¼ | cup | Shortening |
Directions
Mix together: brown sugar, ½ c. shortening, egg, baking soda, salt, flour, milk, cherry juice, unsweetened chocolate, vanilla, and chopped cherries. Drop by rounded teaspoons. Bake 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Immediately after removing from oven, top with ½ large marshmallow, cut side down. Pour over marshmallow: chocolate chips melted with ¼ c.
