Smoky black bean and corn chowder

½cupYellow Onions; Chopped
4tablespoonsButter Or Margarine; Melted
¼cupAll-Purpose Flour
¼teaspoonBlack Pepper; Freshly Ground
teaspoonSalt
4cupsMilk
17ouncesWhole Kernel Corn; Canned, Drained
4Smoked Sausage Links; Sliced
8ouncesBlack Beans; Canned, Drained

Directions

In a saucepan, sauté onion in butter until tender but not brown. Stir in flour, salt and black pepper. Add milk, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly, about 1 minute. Stir in drained corn, sausage slices and drained black beans. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Serving Ideas : With Fresh baked bread NOTES : Just about any smoked meat can be substituted for the Smoked Sausage Links.
