Shepherd's pie supreme

Ingredients

1largeOnion, finely chopped
1poundsRoast Beef minced, or any good ground beef
1cupBeef gravy (or use a stock cube and water)
2tablespoonsWorcestershire sauce
2tablespoonsParsley chopped
1tablespoonChopped fresh herbs or 1/2 ts dried
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
poundsFreshly cooked mashed potatoes
6tablespoonsCream
1Egg, lightly beaten
2ouncesButter, melted
Grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Heat the oil and gently fry the onion until soft. Mix in the beef, gravy, Worcestershire sauce and herbs with salt and pepper to taste.

Spoon into a well-buttered deep casserole dish. Blend the potatoes with cream, egg and half the melted butter and spread over the meat mixture. Brush with the remaning butter and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in a hot oven (200C/400F) until the filling is piping hot and the potatoes are golden brown, about 20 minutes.
