Shepherd's pie (joyce's)

Yield: 6 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 small Onion
1 medium Carrot chopped
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
2 pounds Ground beef
¼ cup Flour
¼ cup Oatmeal
1 \N Garlic to taste
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 \N Beef bouillon cube
6 ounces Hot water

Saute onions and carrots in vegetable oil. Add the ground beef and brown and then drain off excess grease.Add the flour and oatmeal, garlic, worcestershire sauce and pepper to taste.Put the bouillon cube in the hot water, stir to-gether and add to beef. Put beef in a baking dish and top with whipped potatoes. Sprinkle with paprika and bake in 325 oven 25 -30 minutes. THIS RECIPE FROM THE ELEPHANT AND CASTLE RESTAURANT IN OTTAWA.
