Salsa verde (green sauce)

Ingredients

| 2 | mediums | Onions -- chopped |
| 1 | cup | Canned diced green chiles |
| 2½ | Yellow hot chiles -- diced | |
| 1 | cup | Canned whole tomatoes -- crushed |
| 1 | tablespoon | Oregano |
| ½ | teaspoon | Black pepper |
| ¾ | teaspoon | Garlic powder |
| ¼ | cup | Chopped green onions |
| 2 | tablespoons | Chopped bell pepper |
| 2 | quarts | Beef broth |
Directions
Combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, let simmer 1 hour. If needed, add roux to thicken.
Roux: Melt 1 stick of butter. Blend in ¾ cup sifted flour. Can be refrigerated until needed.
