Old english cheddar soup

Ingredients

2smallsOnions; peeled & diced
3mediumsCarrots; peeled & diced
4ouncesBacon; diced
2tablespoonsButter
3tablespoonsFlour
4cupsChicken broth
½cupMilk
¼cupAmberg's Sur-Lie Chardonnay
10ouncesHeluva Good Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Salt; pepper and nutmeg

Directions

Cook bacon in butter until light brown. Add onions and carrots and saute for a few minutes. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring continuously. Add broth, milk and Chardonnay. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add cheese and season to taste.
