Low-fat turkey lasagna sauce

Ingredients

1poundsGround turkey
2tablespoonsVegetable oil
1Onion -- chopped
2Garlic cloves -- minced
3Tomatoes -- peeled and
Chopped
6ouncesTomato paste
2tablespoonsOregano -- chopped
1tablespoonFresh basil -- chopped
1cupRed wine -- dry
Black pepper -- to taste

Directions

1. Heat oil in heavy skillet with lid; saute onion and garlic for 4-5 minutes until limp. Add turkey and cook, breaking up meat, until no pink color remains. 2. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. Add a small amount of water if sauce appears to be getting too dry. 3. Let stand 15 minutes before serving over spaghetti.
