Indian spiced burgers

| ½ | teaspoon | Prepared mustard |

Directions
In a mixing bowl combine egg, onion, bread crumbs, curry powder, 1 teaspoon mustard, the red pepper and salt. Add ground meat; mix well. Shape into two ½" thick patties. Cut the patties in half crosswise.
In a skillet cook patty halves over medium-high heat about 8 minutes, turning once. (Or place on the unheated rack of a broiler pan; broil 5 inches from heat about 10 minutes, turning once.) Heat together the applesauce and ½ teaspoon prepared mustard. Cut pita rounds and apple rings in half crosswise. To serve, tuck a lettuce leaf, burger half, and apple ring half inside each half of pita bread. Spoon the warmed applesauce-mustard mixture into each.
