|6 smalls||Fresh pears|
|1 cup||Sauterne wine|
|1 teaspoon||Crystallized ginger --|
|2 tablespoons||Lemon juice|
Peel pears, leaving fruit whole with stems intact. Place upright in slow-cooking pot. Combine wine with sugar, water, ginger, and lemon juice.
Pour over pears. Cover and cook on low 4 to 6 hours or until pears are tender. Chill and serve plain, with sour cream or whipped cream cheese.
