Directions
Spread the bread with some of the softened butter. Make 4 sandwiches.
each with one slice of chicken and one of cheese. Press firmly together. Proceed as with the Croque-Monsieur.
This traditional French appetizer is an elegant delicate version of the grilled cheese sandwich. Each sandwich may be cut in quarters before dipping to make bite-sized hot hors-d'oeuvres for casual entertaining as well as formal dinners.
