Portuguese kale soup

Ingredients

2poundsKale deveined and coarsely chopped
½poundsChourico {preferably Portuguse but can use Spanish}
1can(14 oz) kidney beans
¼cupSalt pork, diced
1cupPotatoes, cubed
1mediumOnion, diced
1teaspoonSalt
½teaspoonBlack pepper
6cupsWater

Directions

Saute salt pork and onions.Drain fat. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil and simmer covered for 1 hour. Smash some of the potatoes to thicken soup
