Pain au chocolate

In an attempt to make something that tasted at least vaguely like Pain au Chocolate (for the non-speakers of French out there, that's French for "Bread with Chocolate", not "Painful Chocolate"; it's very yummy stuff), i made the recipe for challah in the Donna German breadmaker book (volume 1) and, at the add-raisins-now beep i added a 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips.

It came out tasting vaguely like Pain au Chocolate, and absolutely delicious! It was even better on the second day, once the chips had had a chance to re-solidify. This is an experiment definitely worth trying! From: Bread-Bakers Archives: Recipe By : popcorn@... (Valerie Mates)
