North carolina: eastern style with herbs

| ⅔ | cup | Minced onion |

| 1 | teaspoon | Pepper |

| 2 | teaspoons | Red pepper flakes |
| 1 | teaspoon | Sugar |
| 1 | each | Bay leaf |
| ⅔ | teaspoon | Thyme |
| 3 | tablespoons | Peanut oil |
| 3 | teaspoons | Dry mustard |
| 1 | teaspoon | Cold water |
Directions
Boil all but the last two ingredients for five minutes. Dissolve mustard in water and add.
