175grams6 oz red lentils.
100grams3,5 oz cheddar cheese grated
5millilitres1 tsp vegetable extract.
5millilitres1 tsp dried mixed herbs.
10millilitres2 tsp sunflower oil.
2mediumsOnions peeled and chopped.
1Clove garlic crushed.
300millilitresHalf pt water.

Directions

Put the lentils, cheese, vegetable extract and mixed herbs into a bowl. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and gently fry the onions and garlic. Mix with the lentils and spoon into a large lightly greased oven proof dish. Add the water and cover the dish with foil. Cook in the oven at 180 c 350 f, gas mark 4 for one and a half hours.
