|175 grams||6 oz red lentils.|
|100 grams||3,5 oz cheddar cheese grated|
|5 millilitres||1 tsp vegetable extract.|
|5 millilitres||1 tsp dried mixed herbs.|
|10 millilitres||2 tsp sunflower oil.|
|2 mediums||Onions peeled and chopped.|
|1 \N||Clove garlic crushed.|
|300 millilitres||Half pt water.|
Put the lentils, cheese, vegetable extract and mixed herbs into a bowl. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and gently fry the onions and garlic. Mix with the lentils and spoon into a large lightly greased oven proof dish. Add the water and cover the dish with foil. Cook in the oven at 180 c 350 f, gas mark 4 for one and a half hours.
