Lazy lentils

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
175 grams 6 oz red lentils.
100 grams 3,5 oz cheddar cheese grated
5 millilitres 1 tsp vegetable extract.
5 millilitres 1 tsp dried mixed herbs.
10 millilitres 2 tsp sunflower oil.
2 mediums Onions peeled and chopped.
1 Clove garlic crushed.
300 millilitres Half pt water.

Put the lentils, cheese, vegetable extract and mixed herbs into a bowl. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and gently fry the onions and garlic. Mix with the lentils and spoon into a large lightly greased oven proof dish. Add the water and cover the dish with foil. Cook in the oven at 180 c 350 f, gas mark 4 for one and a half hours.
