Hearty white bean & pasta soup

Ingredients

| ¼ | pounds | Thick-sliced bacon |
| 3 | tablespoons | Olive oil |
| ¼ | cup | Finely chopped onion |
| ¼ | cup | Finely chopped celery |
| ¼ | cup | Finely chopped carrots |
| 15 | ounces | Can Tomatoes with juice |
| 19 | ounces | Can White beans |
| 4 | cups | Chicken broth |
| ½ | teaspoon | Salt |
| ½ | teaspoon | Pepper |
| 1¼ | cup | Cooked pasta |
Directions
Cut bacon into pieces and fry crisp. Drain bacon on paper towels.
Remove grease from pan and add olive oil. Add onion, celery, and carrots; cover and cook about 10 minutes.
Add tomatoes with juice and cook uncovered about 8 minutes. Add beans, broth, salt and pepper and cook 5 minutes. Mash some of the beans for thickening.
Return bacon to pan and add pasta. Cook 5 minutes.
