1½ pounds | Onions |
½ pounds | Mushrooms |

10 fluid ounce | Guinness or other stout |
10 fluid ounce | Stock or water |
\N \N | Pinch of nutmeg |
\N \N | Salt and pepper |
\N \N | Fat for frying |
Cut meat into fairly large chunks and roll in seasoned flour. Brown in hot fat and remove from pot. Chop onions roughly and fry gently for 2-3 minutes. Return meat to pot. Add all other ingredients.
Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 2 hours or until meat is tender.
