clam waffles

Recipe "Mom's Basic Waffle Batter" (see recipe)
1 can (6.5-oz) clams; drained

This is another from my childhood. During World War II my mother was very clever at stretching the food dollar. In this case one 6-½-ounce can of minced clams was drained and added to the basic batter. That is the flavor of the Pacific Northwest.
