Lentil bobotie

Ingredients

10millilitres2 tsp sunflower oil.
2mediumsOnions peeled and chopped.
1Clove garlic, crushed.
15millilitres1 tbsp curry powder.
50grams2 oz sultanas
5millilitres1 tsp dried mixed herbs.
250grams8 oz red lentils.
300millilitresHalf pt skimmed milk.
15millilitres1 tbsp vinegar.

Ground black pepper

Directions

Heat the oil in a pan and gently fry the onions for 8 minutes. Add the garlic and fry for a further 2 minutes. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Place the mixture in a large greased oven proof dish and cover with foil. Cook in the oven at 180 c, 350 f, gas mark 4 for 1 and three quarter hours.
