Creaming Method 1. Place the sugar, butter or shortening, salt and spices in a mixing bowl and cream together. 2. Add the eggs and liquid. 3. Add the flour and leavening agent last. One-Stage Method 1. Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix until all are smoothly blended. 2. Allow two or three minutes at low speed for mixing.
