⅔ cup Water
1⅔ cup White bread flour
⅓ cup Wheat bread flour
4 teaspoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
4 teaspoons Butter
½ teaspoon Green pepper corns *
½ teaspoon Sweet basil, dried
Pinch Garlic powder
¼ cup Bacon, with fat
1 teaspoon Yeast, fast rise or machine or -
2 teaspoons Yeast, active dry

This is one of those loaves the whole family eats up, right from the oven. If it lasts long enough, this tasty loaf enlivens any soup or salad.

* Green pepper corns should be dried & crushed Cook bacon till almost crisp. Set bacon fat aside while you crumble cooked bacon, then remix bacon & fat before measuring.

After loaf is partially cooled, brush with butter and sprinkle a little coarsly-ground salt on top.

Use regular or rapid bake cycle.
