|1 cup||Flour; all-purpose|
|1 teaspoon||Baking powder|
|½ teaspoon||Baking soda|
|½ cup||Margarine; calorie-reduced softened|
|¾ cup||Sugar substitute; Splenda|
|1 large||Apple; grated, unpeeled|
|¼ cup||Applesauce; unsweetened|
|⅓ cup||Walnuts; chopped, divided|
Stir together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. Beat margarine until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Beat in sugar substitute for about 1 minute. Add flour mixture, apple and applesauce; beat until well-blended. Stir in ¼ cup walnuts.
Spread evenly in greased 8-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake at 350F for about 40 minutes or until tester inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool.
Cut into bars.
