Yield: 4 servings
|1 large||Bermuda onion; cut into 1/4" thick slices and separated into rings|
|¾ cup||Plain dried bread crumbs|
|1 teaspoon||Chili powder Salt|
|4 teaspoons||Vegetable oil|
In 9"x13" glass dish, combine onion and milk; let stand 30 minutes, turning often. On wax paper, combine bread crumbs, chili powder and salt. Preheat oven to 450. Spray nonstick baking sheet with cooking spray. Turn onion rings into bread crumb mixture to coat. Place onion rings in pan; drizzle evenly with oil. Bake 5 minutes on each side.
Each side = ½ bread, ½ vegetable, 1 fat, 5 optional calories.
