1 cup | Butter or margarine |
1 cup | Sugar |
1 cup | Confectioner's sugar |

1 cup | Cooking oil |
1 teaspoon | Vanilla extract |
4 cups | Flour; sifted |
1 teaspoon | Baking soda |
1 teaspoon | Cream of tartar |
½ teaspoon | Salt |
Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in oil and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; mix well. Chill dough in refrigerator 8 hours or overnight. Shape dough in balls the size of a walnut. Place balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in 350 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes or until done. Remove from baking sheets; cool on racks.
NOTES : Rich buttery sugar cookies that melt in your mouth.
