West virginia barbecued pork ribs

Yield: 8 servings

Measure Ingredient
6 pounds Fresh pork ribs
4 eaches Onions, chopped
2 cups Water
2 eaches Beef bouillon cubes
½ cup Dark brown sugar
1 cup Ketchup
½ cup Cider vinegar
1 pounds Tomato puree
1 tablespoon Garlic salt
1 tablespoon Celery salt
1 tablespoon Chili powder
½ teaspoon Ground allspice
½ teaspoon Ground ginger
½ teaspoon Ground cloves
½ teaspoon Dry mustard
½ cup Drained sweet pickle relish

Brown ribs in heavy kettle. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 2 hours, or until tender. Makes 8 servings. Origin: Woman's Day Encyclopedia of Cookery, Volume 1, West Virginia Section.
