| 2 tablespoons | Sugar |
| ¼ teaspoon | Vanilla |
| Few grains salt |
Beat egg slightly with fork. Add sugar and salt. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly. Cook over hot water, stirring constantly, until mixture coats a spoon. Remove from fire. Add flavoring. Cool quickly to prevent over cooking which results in curdling. If curds form beat rapidly with dover beater. 2 servings. The Household Searchlight
