Slippery dumplings

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Flour; all-purpose
⅔ cup Water; lukewarm
2 tablespoons Shortening
1 teaspoon Salt

Sift flour in mixing bowl. Add salt, and mix in shortening. Add water, a small amount at a time, until dough is soft but not sticky; knead well. Roll very thin. Flour well while rolling. Cut in squares.

Cook 15 minutes in chicken or beef broth.
