| 1 pounds | Ground beef |
| 2 cups | Cheerios cereal; crushed |
| 2 tablespoons | Onion; chopped |
| 2 tablespoons | Green bell pepper; chopped |
| 2 tablespoons | Chili sauce |
| 1 teaspoon | Salt |
| ½ teaspoon | McCormick/Schilling black pepper |
| ¼ cup | Milk |
| 1 | Egg |
| 6 slices | Processed American cheese |
| 6 | Hamburger buns; buttered & toasted |
Mix all ingredients except cheese and buns. Shape mixture into six 3-inch patties. Set oven control to broil and/or 550 degrees. Broil patties with tops 4 to 5 inches from heat 5 minutes on each side. Top each patty with cheese slice. Broil until cheese melts, about 2 minutes. Serve on buns.
Makes 6 sandwiches.
