| Measure | Ingredient |
|---|---|
| 2 cups | Flour |
| 2 teaspoons | Baking powder |
| 1 teaspoon | Salt |
| ⅓ cup | Shortening |
| 1 | Egg, beaten |
| ½ cup | Milk |
Combine dry ingredients, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine egg and milk, stir in enough of the egg mixture to dry ingredients to make a firm dough. Roll dough to ¼ inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut into strips, squares or diamonds with sharp knife.
Drop onto simmering food, cover and simmer 10 minutes.
NOTES : This is another one that my Mother used so often.
