Measure | Ingredient |

2 cups | Yellow cornmeal |
1 cup | Flour |
3 tablespoons | Vegetable oil |
2 eaches | Egg |
1½ cup | Milk |
1½ teaspoon | Salt |
2 tablespoons | Sugar |
1 tablespoon | Baking powder |
Measure dry ingredients and stir. Add milk, mix well.
Add eggs, beat >> thoroughly. Stir in oil, beat aagain until well blended. Melt Crisco in heated cast iron skillet (mine measures about 9 inches across the bottom). Pour the batter into the hot pan. Bake in a 400 degree F. oven about 40 minutes, until top is lightly brown.
