| Measure | Ingredient |

| ½ cup | Brown sugar |
| ½ cup | White sugar |
| ¼ cup | Butter |
| 1 | Egg, unbeaten |
| 1 cup | Flour |
| 1 teaspoon | Baking powder |
| 1 teaspoon | Cinnamon |
| 1 teaspoon | Vanilla |
| ⅓ cup | Chopped nuts (optional) |
Cream sugars and butter together. Mix in egg. Add flour sifted with baking powder. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop from a spoon on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350deg for 7 minutes. Check for cookie to be just browned on the bottom for chewy cookies.
