3 pounds | Mashed fresh peaches or |
3 cans | (1-lb) freestone peaches; drained and mashed |
1 tablespoon | Fresh lemon juice |
4 cups | Milk |
3 cups | Whipping cream |
1½ cup | Sugar |
1 teaspoon | Vanilla extract |
¼ teaspoon | Almond extract |
1 can | Sweetened condensed milk |
¼ teaspoon | Salt (up to) |
3 drops | Red food color; optional |
When using fresh peaches, sweeten to taste. Combine peaches and lemon juice. In a very large mixing bowl combine milk, whipping cream, sugar, vanilla and almond extract, salt. Add peaches to the mixture; stir in food color, if,desired. Chill. Put into ice cream freezer and churn. Yields 1 gallon.
