| 1½ teaspoon | Cornstarch |
| ¾ teaspoon | Lemon juice; freshly squeezd |
| dash | Cinnamon, ground |
| ¼ teaspoon | Almond extract |
| Cake, white or yellow; slicd |
Drain peaches, reserving ½ cup syrup. Combine reserved syrup, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils; allow to boil 1 minute. Add almond extract and peach slices; heat thoroughly. Serve warm over cake slices.
