4 slices | Smoked bacon; diced |
8 ounces | Rib-eye steak; ground |
1 cup | Cooked mashed rutabagas |
1 cup | Mashed potatoes |
1 cup | Cooked white rice |
1 pounds | Broccoli; diced and blanched |
1 cup | Diced celery |
1 cup | Diced green bell pepper |
1 cup | Diced onion |
2 \N | Cloves garlic; minced |
1 quart | Skim milk |
½ cup | Butter |
1 cup | Half-and-half |
1 cup | Crumbled cheese crackers |
½ cup | Chopped parsley |
1 teaspoon | Worcestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon | Hot sauce |
1 teaspoon | Ketchup |
In a heavy soup kettle or Dutch oven, fry the bacon and reserve the grease.
In the bacon grease, brown the steak, then add all the other ingredients.
Simmer for 20-25 minutes. Sherry may be added prior to serving if desired.
