Oscar's broccoli soup (with meat)

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
4 slices Smoked bacon; diced
8 ounces Rib-eye steak; ground
1 cup Cooked mashed rutabagas
1 cup Mashed potatoes
1 cup Cooked white rice
1 pounds Broccoli; diced and blanched
1 cup Diced celery
1 cup Diced green bell pepper
1 cup Diced onion
2 \N Cloves garlic; minced
1 quart Skim milk
½ cup Butter
1 cup Half-and-half
1 cup Crumbled cheese crackers
½ cup Chopped parsley
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Hot sauce
1 teaspoon Ketchup

In a heavy soup kettle or Dutch oven, fry the bacon and reserve the grease.

In the bacon grease, brown the steak, then add all the other ingredients.

Simmer for 20-25 minutes. Sherry may be added prior to serving if desired.
