| Measure | Ingredient |

| ½ cup | Butter |
| ½ cup | Blanched; slivered almonds |
| 1 tablespoon | Dark brown sugar |
| 2 | Cloves garlic; pressed |
| ½ teaspoon | Salt |
| ¼ teaspoon | Pepper |
| ¼ cup | Dry white wine or sherry |
| 4 smalls | Dozen white onions; fresh or canned |
Melt butter. Stir in almonds and brown sugar. Add pressed garlic, seasonings and wine. Add onions and stir until well coated. Cover and bake at 350ø for 1 hour, stirring or shaking pan occasionally to coat onions.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
