|½ cup||Blanched; slivered almonds|
|1 tablespoon||Dark brown sugar|
|2||Cloves garlic; pressed|
|¼ cup||Dry white wine or sherry|
|4 smalls||Dozen white onions; fresh or canned|
Melt butter. Stir in almonds and brown sugar. Add pressed garlic, seasonings and wine. Add onions and stir until well coated. Cover and bake at 350ø for 1 hour, stirring or shaking pan occasionally to coat onions.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
