Chopped onions
Crushed garlic cloves
3 teaspoons Grated ginger
1 tablespoon Curry powder
1½ pounds Minced beef
  Coriander
  Rice
Cm cinnamon stick
Bay leaf
14⅛ ounce Tinned chopped tomatoes
  Salt
  Ground black pepper

GARNISH

TO SERVE

Keema is a simple curry made with minced beef and could be made equally well with lean minced lamb. It is medium hot in strength.

1. Heat the oil in a heavy based saucepan. Fry the onions, garlic and ginger for 3-4 minutes over a medium heat then stir in the curry powder. Fry a further minute.

2. Add the minced beef, increase the heat and cook until browned, stirring occasionnaly. Mix in the cinnamon stick, bay leaf and tomatoes. Stir well and simmer for 45-55 minutes. Season and remove bay leaf and cinnamon. Serve with rice and coriander.
