mama's dumplings

2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Shortening
Egg
¾ cup Water

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add egg and water. Roll out very thin, cut to desired size, and drop in boiling broth until done.
