½ cup | Unsweetened applesauce |
3 cups | Bread flour |
1½ teaspoon | Salt |
1½ tablespoon | Butter; or margarine |
3 tablespoons | Brown sugar |
½ cup | Granny Smith apple; cored, peeled & chopped |
¼ cup | Raisins; optional |
½ teaspoon | Ground cinnamon |
\N pinch | Ground nutmeg |
1½ teaspoon | Active dry yeast |
pn Grated nutmeg 1½ ts Red Star brand Active dry yeast Place all ingredients in bread pan, select Light crust setting and press start. Allow to cool 1 hour before slicing.

This is a moist and chewy bread. A great snack bread.
