| Measure | Ingredient |

| 1¼ cup | Sugar |
| 1 cup | Butter |
| 4 tablespoons | Buttermilk, dissolved with |
| 1 tsp. of soda | |
| 1 cup | Blackberry jam |
| 2 cups | Flour |
| ½ teaspoon | Cinnamon |
| ½ teaspoon | Allspice |
| 4 | Eggs |
| ICING: | |
| 6 tablespoons | Cream |
| 6 tablespoons | Butter |
| 2 cups | Brown sugar |
| 1 teaspoon | Vanilla |
Mix the first 7 ingredients together, then add eggs one at a time.
Mix well and pour batter into 3 well greased and floured cake pans.
