| ½ cup | Sugar |
| 1 teaspoon | Salt |
| 3 tablespoons | Cornstarch |
| 1¾ cup | Apple juice or water |
| 6 tablespoons | Brandy |
| 2 tablespoons | Butter |
| 1 | Egg beaten |
Place in a saucepan the sugar, salt and cornstarch. Mix in the apple juice and cook over medium heat 5-8 minutes, stirring until mixture is creamy and transparent. Add the brandy and the butter. Beat the egg and add to the sauce gradually, beating with a wire whisk. Serves 8. (Sauce can be made ahead of time and just reheated) Origin: Found in recipe box bought at garage sale.
