|¼ cup||Port wine|
|1 tablespoon||Lemon peel -- grated|
|4 mediums||Apples -- peeled and sliced|
|2 cups||Fresh cranberries|
|½ cup||Dates -- chopped and pitted|
|⅓ cup||Walnuts -- chopped|
|Dairy sour cream or ice|
In slow-cooking pot, combine wine, butter, sukgar, lemon peel, and spices.
Add apples and cranberriess. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours. Stir in dates and walnuts. Serve warm or cold. Delicious with topping of sour cream or used as a sundae sauce for ice cream.
