¼ teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Cream of tartar
1 cup Granualted sugar
½ teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Chopped nuts
1 teaspoon Finely grated lemon rind
  Other flavoring

From: mawillia@... (Margaret Williams) Date: Wed, 23 Nov 1994 16:09:53 +0000 Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar. When egg whites from soft peaks, very gradually add the sugar. Fold in the flavoring and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls on cooky sheet dusted with corn starch. Bake 1 hour 250 degrees F.

This mixture can be spread into 3" or 8" pie shell shape, baked then filled with cooked pudding or other filling.
