extra-large bran muffins

MeasureIngredient
1 cup Wheat bran
1 cup Whole wheat flour
¼ teaspoon Salt
¼ cup Brown sugar
1½ teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Baking soda
½ cup Golden raisins
½ cup Walnuts -- chopped
1 cup Buttermilk
Egg -- beaten
3 tablespoons Molasses
4 tablespoons Unsalted butter -- melted

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine dry ingredients, raisins, and walnuts in a bowl. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk. beaten egg, molasses, and butter. Stir liquid ingredients into dry ingredients only enough to mix then quickly spoon into muffin tins. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
