Dutch apple fritters (appelbeignets)

2 cups All-purpose flour; sifted
1 can (12-oz) or bottle of ale
½ teaspoon Salt

\N \N Confectioners' sugar

Dip apple slices in mixture. Fry in deep fat or in 1 inch of oil in heavy skillet at 370 degs frying temperture. Drain. sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Serve immediately. serves 4-6 Recipe Archive - 29 July 96
